IN THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE....
The average patient remembers 40 % or less of what is said. Patient’s often fall victim to “white coat syndrome” or “doctor-itis”.
I can accompany you, take complete notes of what the Doctor has said, maybe ask some follow up questions you will need to know to understand what is said or to be able to follow up on his advice.
We can discuss what was said after the visit. If you need to send family/friends information on the visit, I can prepare an email for you.
IN THE HOSPITAL....
Health Care Personnel are working very hard to give their patients the best of care. Our health care system has stressed out the same personnel to the max. Avoidable Medical Errors now account for 100,000 deaths each year in hospitalized patients, mostly avoidable and due to human error.
My services involve getting to the hospital early each day to hear what the Doctor says when he/she visits you. * Then, if needed, I can help you understand what he has said. If you want , I can stay with you for the day, attending to make sure you get what you need. After 25 years of being in hospitals and “rounding” with physicians, I have excellent instincts about what feels right and what does not in your hospital care. I am able to clearly and succintly ask questions of hospital personal on your behalf, if you have given me prior permission to do so. You will get the best out of your stay, be guarded against medical errors and relieved of anxiety.
